UNIT 5 ADDICTIONS

Addiction is a chronic condition characterized by the compulsive engagement in a substance or behavior despite negative consequences.

It often involves a loss of control and continued use despite harmful effects on physical, mental, and social well-being.

Addiction can be related to substances (drugs, alcohol) or behaviors (gambling, social media use).

Understanding the spectrum of addictive behaviors is essential for recognizing that addiction is not a one-size-fits-all phenomenon. Each type of addiction may present unique challenges and require tailored approaches for intervention and treatment.

One effective strategy for prevention is education which can empower individuals to make informed choices regarding substance use and addictive behaviors. Another critical aspect of intervention is recognizing the signs of addiction early.

UNIT 3 - RENAISSANCE ARTS & ARTISTS

The Renaissance (=Rebirth) was a cultural movement that profoundly affected European intellectual life in the early modern period. Beginning in Italy in the 14th century and spreading to the rest of Europe by the 16th century, its influence was felt in art, philosophy, literature, music, science, politics, religion, and other aspects of intellectual inquiry. Renaissance employed the humanist method in study and searched for realism and human emotion in Art.
